A collection agent is a person who is given the task of collecting debts or attempting to collect debts on behalf of a creditor/company, A collection agent receives payment from the debtor and forwards this payment to the creditor/company.
Collection Agents work closely with our customers to help them understand their payment options and to set up payment plans that work for both our company and the customer.
Duties/Responsibility of a Collection Agent
- Subject to criminal background checks
- Perform collection calls
- Handle discrepancies in account records
- Research additional collection methods
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Conduct all follow-up calls, emails, and letters
- Follow all company policies and procedures
