Accounting Technician Entry Level

*DESCRIPTION * Under general supervision, the Accounting Technician (Entry Level) plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of our city.
*QUALIFICATIONS* •High School Diploma/GED.
•Two years of experience in a general office setting using bookkeeping/ accounting principles or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Valid Texas Driver License at the time of hire.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* •Knowledge of financial reporting concepts and preferred business practices.
•Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of municipal accounting.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
*MAJOR DUTIES* •Assist in maintaining financial records, including accounts payable/ receivable and general ledger entries.
•Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
•Reconcile bank statements and assist in budget monitoring and analysis.
•Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
•Support auditors during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
•Perform other duties as assigned Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $16.
