*Accounting Position *
This position's primary responsibilities are a combination of bookkeeping activities including banking, management of loans & leases, insurance administration, sales & property taxes, and filing for environmental permits.
*QUALIFICATIONS *
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or Business-related field preferred
* 5+ years Accounting or Bookkeeping experience required
* 5+ years QuickBooks, or equivalent software experience required
* Understanding of Financial Flows and accounting coding
* Microsoft Office, PDF Editing Software; and Proficiency in Excel
* Excellent communication (written and verbal), critical thinking, attention to detail, interpersonal, and analytical skills required
* Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
* Self starter – must be able to take current duties & improve on processes
*TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED *
* Proficient knowledge of Accounting Principles
* Excellent detail and math calculation skills
* Excellent computer skills (primarily with Accounting software and Excel spreadsheets)
*JOB DUTIES *
Banking:
* Monitor bank activity daily
* Make entries into accounting software
* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
* Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts
* Send wire transfers
* Provide recommendations on policy and practice within the accounting system
* Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
* Research discrepancies
* Producing reports as needed
Loans:
* Set up accounts with Vendors and monitor contracts
* Make payments
* Calculate and record interest
Leases:
* Make payments
* Keep track of maturity dates & renewals
* Consult with owner on renewing lease or turn into loan
Insurance (GL, Auto, Worker’s Comp & Umbrella Policy):
* Produce spreadsheet for equipment renewal
* Maintain detailed list of trucks & equipment for insurance
* Coordinate & complete annual audits
* File accident reports immediately with Worker’s Comp
Permits:
* Work with environmental company to gather needed data to file for permits
* Complete & file for APO (Aggregate Production Operations Permit)
* Deal with TCEQ for inspections, questions and/or fines
Accounting:
* Make sure accounts are ready for taxes & biannual financial statements
* Maintain spreadsheets for long-term & short-term loan amounts
* Separate payroll totals and payroll taxes between admin and employees for COGS
* Work with accountant for any data needed
Sales Tax:
* Compute & pay sales tax
Property Tax:
* Fill out and file renditions annually
Communications:
* Effectively communicate with other team members, suppliers, customers by use of emails, phone, and/or fax communication on a timely basis
* Ability to communicate technical information to others internally and externally
Organizational:
* Ensure that all required reporting is up to date and accurate
* Ability to organize and handle paperwork to meet internal and external requirements
* Administrative support to team including answering telephone, processing mail, possible trips to the post office and other errands, and other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.
00 - $60,000.
00 per year depending on experience
